Para Dance Project

Para Dance Project

Back in September, Para Dance and Alexandra Palace created a fabulous Let's Dance project. Knowing the limitations Covid had brought to us, they created videos of four dance routines that we could learn in our classrooms, eventually record and after gaining your consent, they were then going to compile the videos of all the SEN schools making one big happy video of each routine.

Lockdown 3.0 has stopped us from learning the routines in our classes but we can still learn them at home! The links below break down the routine and it would be great if parents, siblings or anyone who is in your home joined in and learnt the dances whilst getting some much needed fun and exercise. They have also made some creative videos so that you can create a costume or even design your own set.

Choose your favourite song and start learning. You don't have to learn the whole thing just a segment will do. We would love to see your videos no matter how short or long. Record them in landscape and email them to your teacher. If you wanted, and if you provide your consent, we will forward them to the Para Dance team where they will include you in the Big Video.

Inclusive dance is dance for EVERYONE regardless of ability or disability. Inclusive dance focuses on exploring and developing individual creativity and celebrating uniqueness, as well as uncovering physical potential. Collaboration trumps precision!
