Planned Industrial Action in December
Mon 01 Dec 2025Important notice: Planned Industrial Action in December
Staff who are members of the National Education Union (NEU) have announced planned industrial action. This is in relation to pay, conditions and policies. Industrial action is scheduled for 17th, 18th and 19th December. During this period the school will be partially closed to pupils as some staff will be unavailable. Parents will be notified if their child’s class is closed on these days.
We have followed all processes and worked closely with the union, the local authority and HR specialist advisers to find a resolution and avoid disruption – unfortunately an agreement was not reached. We are disappointed that despite our best efforts the strike action will continue. This will have a profound impact on all our pupils who receive specialist care as staff affected will not be available to work. This decision has not been taken lightly and we apologise for the inconvenience this will have on families. The wellbeing of our pupils remains our highest priority, and we are working to minimise the impact on their education.
Updates will be shared as soon as possible, and we encourage you to check your emails and the school website regularly

Thu 14 Nov 2024Yesterday Lime class had a super special Remembrance Day assembly! We learned about the 11th hour, 11th day, and 11th month, and then we all took a moment of reduced noise for one minute to remember the brave soldiers. After that, we had so much fun using our parachutes to launch red balloons and confetti into the air, celebrating their memory! It was a wonderful way to honour them together!

On Wednesday 1st May, students, staff, and parents from Woodlands Special Needs School joined forces with an enthusiastic team of students from Park High School to complete circuits of Chandos Park. Guided by their shared commitment to enriching educational experiences, participants walked side by side, demonstrating unity and support for the cause.
Woodlands Special Needs School in collaboration with Park High School proudly announces the success of its recent sponsored walk held at Chandos Park. The event aimed to raise funds to acquire a state-of-the-art interactive floor projector for the school, enhancing learning opportunities for its students. The funds raised through the sponsored walk will be used to purchase a sensory interactive floor projector, a valuable tool that will revolutionize sensory learning experiences for students at Woodlands Special Needs School. The projector will create interactive floor displays that stimulate visual and tactile senses, fostering engagement, exploration, and learning.
We raised an amazing £3854, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and donors for their generosity and support.
